Oklahoma Bingo

Oklahoma has long been interrelated with Bingo. That is because the Indian tribes of Oklahoma have provided Bingo sessions for years. Patrons from each of the neighboring states get in vans and travel into Oklahoma to gamble on Bingo over the weekends.

The 1988 Indian Gaming Regulatory Act was introduced after a landmark ruling by The U.S. Supreme Court just the prior year. From that time, twenty three of the thirty nine Native bands of Oklahoma have opened gaming halls. The Chickasaw were the initial Oklahoma Amerindian band to take advantage of the gambling restrictions, and at this time control 10 casinos of their very own. Bingo was the game on which the above-mentioned gambling halls were founded. Electronic games like slot machines were not allowed, due to the fact that they are thought to lead to gambling problems more than bingo.

In the past few years, Oklahoma governing edicts has altered to allow for big Native wagering gambling dens. You’ll now find American Indian gambling halls with slots, video poker and vingt-et-un tables. Craps and roulette are still not legal in the Amerindian casinos as of yet, but this is just a waiting game. Nobody can say whether having different casino games in the bingo parlors will do for the draw of bingo.
